Members and supporters of the Party of Socialists protested in front of the Parliament Building, expressing their indignation at the fact that the special sitting centering on the investigation into the bank frauds is held behind closed doors, IPN reports.
The protesters chanted “Down with the Alliance”, Down with Ghimpu”, “Down with Voronin”, and “Down with Plahotniuc” after Mihai Ghimpu, Marian Lupu and Vladimir Voronin pleaded for holding the sitting behind closed doors or making it partially open.
The Socialists’ leader Igor Dodon came before the crowd and said that those from Parliament do not want the truth to be found out. He informed that the Socialist parliamentary group will take part in the special sitting, will collect information and will make it public as the people must know what’s going on.
Afterward, the crowd organized itself into a march to go to the Presidential Office and seek the dismissal of President Nicolae Timofti.
