The Socialist parliamentary group drafted and registered a bill to adopt a statement on the recognition of the state of captivity experienced by Moldova. The leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon called on the MPs who do not form part of the parliamentary alliance to sign this statement, IPN reports.

The politician noted that this is a first step towards recognizing Moldova as a captured state. The statement says that the state institutions are excessively politicized and seriously stricken by corruption. “The Republic of Moldova became a captured stated where some live in luxury, while over 1 million people live at the poverty line, being condemned to misery and hunger,” said Igor Dodon, reading the statement.

According to the statement, the reforms are simulated and the rule of law institutions are discredited, while the people lost confidence, with the confidence of the development partners being irretrievable. The state institutions struggle against the own people and deny them access to justice, health, etc.

Asked by journalists if the Socialists MPs will support the candidate for National Bank governor nominated by the Speaker, Igor Dodon said they will not vote for him. Even if Sergiu Cioclea is a professional, he does not have chances to improve the situation now that the state is captured. Any candidate who will be named to an executive post by the current Parliament will discredit himself from the start.
