The Deputy Prime Minister for Social Matters Gheorghe Brega is the new target of the Socialists. The simple motion against this was presented by Socialist MPs in the July 7 sitting of Parliament, IPN reports.

Socialist MP Vasile Bolea said that since Gheorghe Brega took up his duties, the social welfare has worsened. The incomes decreased, the prices and tariffs increased, while the compensated drugs practically disappeared from drugstores. The access to education is for money, while the textbooks are released on rent at a time when the general education should be free. “The children are fed on 7 lei a day. This sum is higher even in jails,” stated the MP.

Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu said that this is the first simple motion against a Cabinet member without a portfolio. He will consult the legal commission and the law division and, possibly, the Constitutional Court so as to see if only Gheorghe Brega should be invited to Parliament or also another three ministers from the relevant areas of responsibility, who were already featured by other simple motions.

The simple motion proposed today is the seventh submitted by the Socialists since May. Similar motions were made against ministers Corina Fusu, Octavian Armasu, Anatol Salaru, Iurie Chirinciuc, Stela Grigoras, and Vladimir Cebotari. The motions against the first four ministers were rejected. The motion against Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Stela Grigoras is to be examined today. A minister is dismissed by a majority of votes of MPs.
