Moldova must adjust its national law to the European one and to promote the regulation of corporate social responsibility, speaker Marian Lupu Friday told an international conference “Governance and Business for a Better Social Responsibility,” Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Parliament's President has expressed his conviction that a sustainable development of the society cannot be attained but by promoting partnerships in the public and private sectors.
It is necessary to attract the businesses in solving social problems. The corporate social responsibility must not be conceived as an element through the state, the public sector give up some obligations, but it is the public authorities' getting more involved in promoting actions and in setting stimulating mechanisms to involve businesses in social responsibility activities, the speaker said.
According to the chairman of the American Trade Chamber in Moldova, the general director of the SunCommunication SRL cable operator, John Maxemchuk, the companies need to realize that the social responsibility is a long-term investment.
“One of the activities speaking about the social responsibility of our company is a social project in Leova, in partnership with the group from North Carolina, which consists in building a greenhouse for orphan children,” John Maxemchuk said.
The conference “Governance and Business for a Better Social Responsibility” is organized by the Moldovan Parliament, the UNDP, the Global Impact to Moldova, etc.
