Soviet gas masks sold in breach of legal provisions

Over 600 Soviet gas masks whose period of validity expired were sold in the absence of documents of origin, IPN reports.

According to the General Police Inspectorate, decision makers of the business entity kept, used and sold gas masks in breach of the legislation on civil protection.

The police seized 644 masks that would have yielded over 32,000 lei if they had been sold. The caused damage is being estimated.

The General Police Inspectorate noted that the managers of economic units bear responsibility for the keeping, maintaining and use of Civil Protection property in accordance with the legislation. Those to blame in this case face fines of up to 20,000 lei and confiscation of the goods.
