Special veterinary vehicles, purchased with the support of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, were handed over on Wednesday to specialized subdivisions in the country during a ceremony staged in the Great National Assembly Square. Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, said that the made investments will offer assistance to state agents in increasing the quality of services provided to the citizens and economic agents and will strengthen the capacities of state veterinary services to facilitate operations and develop the network of state veterinarians, IPN reports.
Thirty-two transport units equipped with the instruments needed to provide veterinary assistance were handed over to subdivisions of the National Food Safety Agency. Twelve vehicles were assigned to the divisions of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture. One vehicle will be used by the National Agency for Land Improvements (to monitor the rehabilitation works of three irrigation systems in Tudora, Etulia and Tețcani) and to the Agricultural and Rural Counseling Center.
The transport units were purchased in the framework of the Agriculture Governance, Growth, and Resilience Investment Project for Moldova in which is financed under a loan agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development is one of the banks of the World Bank Group. World Bank Country Manager for Moldova Inguna Dobraja said that these vehicles will serve to improve the quality of provided services, while the employees of the beneficiary entities will have access to better working conditions. The official voiced hope that all these efforts will lead to increased exports to European Union markets.
