Specialists want to join efforts to ensure information security. Building a civilized information society is impossible without ensuring data security, university professor Serghei Ohrimenco said on Wednesday, April 16, at the opening of the 5th international conference “Information Security 2008”.
The conference is traditionally taking place under the aegis of the information security laboratory of the Moldova Economic Studies (ASEM), Info-Prim Neo reports. During the conference, specialists from Moldova, Slovenia and Ukraine will present reports on ensuring the information security of the state, companies and people.
“Laws regulating informatization and state information resources have been adopted, as well as the laws on protecting personal data, on registries. The Penal Code establishes sanctions for informational frauds. Efficient mechanisms of applying those laws are to be created and, in this regard, government agencies as well as the private sector and the civil society should work,” Ohrimenco specified.
Oleg Rotaru, the deputy head of the Government’s apparatus has saif now the Information Development Ministry together with other entities defines the concept bases of the information security. Premises are created to implement specialized technologies in order to ensure the protection of data.
Ghenadie Cernei, the deputy president of Banca de Economii has said that, in the conditions of globalization, information systems develop rapidly. It is necessary that the business quicker adapts to changes, to identify adequate ways to protect stored and processed data. “In the banking business this is a must, as it is known that where money is, there more possibilities for fraud,” Cernei added.
The conference will end on April 17.
