State Register of Personal Data to be created in Moldova

A new step was taken towards building an information society. The Government approved the conception of the Automated Information System “State Register of Personal Data Operators”, Info-Prim Neo reports. Vitalie Panish, director of the National Center for Personal Data Protection, said the institution of the electronic register will enable to remove bureaucracy and to reduce the time and costs for registering, changing or removing information about personal data operators. The register will serve as a key instrument for speedily extracting data about the Center’s activity and the current situation of the personal data operators. It is expected that the register will have three categories of beneficiaries - the businesses, the people and the National Center for Personal Data Protection. The first two categories will have online access to the public content of the register and will be able to check the information about the right to possess or process personal data. The National Center for Personal Data Protection will also benefit from this. It will be able to provide services of a high quality swiftly and to improve the quality of the furnished information, said Vitalie Panish The creation of the State Register of Personal Data Operators will be financed from the budget and from the money offered by foreign donors.
