Administrator of the Marculesti International Airport Sergiu Ciobanu is warning that the state might lose the company. He accuses the insurance company Moldasig of dragging his enterprise through courts without any good reason, Info-Prim Neo learned from a press release of the state enterprise.
Sergiu Ciobanu announced that the work of the Marculesti International Airport was almost stopped because of the trials it got involved in. “Considering several factors, it’s becoming clear this is an attempt to overtake the state’s property, which is part of the category that isn’t subject to privatization”, says the administrator.
According to Sergiu Ciobanu, the Marculesti International Airport was forced in 2005 to sign contracts with the insurance company Moldasig. His enterprise had to turn down better offers from other companies.
The airport administrator says that his company was sued by the insurance company and that some judges allowed it because of mean interests. He adds that although there are several suspended writs of execution, a judge of the Balti Court of Appeals admitted for examination Moldasig’s request to initiate insolvency procedures for the Marculesti International Airport.
Sergiu Ciobanu says he informed the state leaders about the situation of the enterprise. The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation into the attempt of illegal takeover of state property and commission a financial audit has been conducted, which indicated that Moldasing’s claims are ungrounded.
Moldasig representatives refused to comment on the matter for Info-Prim Neo.
