State to cover costs of repatriating victims of Kaluga and Genoa accidents

The Government will fully cover the costs associated with the repatriation of the Moldovans who suffered injuries or died in the accidents that occurred in the Russian city Kaluga and the Italian city Genoa this August. The decision was taken in the September 19 meeting of the Commission for Emergencies, IPN reports.

It was decided to allocate 119,000 lei for covering the expenses for repatriating the victims of the Kaluga accident. Eight people died in the accident that happened on the M3 road from Russia to Ukraine on August 4. Six of these were Moldovans. Another eight Moldovans were hospitalized with injuries, but one of these could not be saved.

The executive will also allocate about 47,000 lei for repatriating the Moldovan who died in the Genoa bridge collapse on August 14. He was one of the 43 persons who died in that accident.
