The Joint Commission for European Integration between the Parliament of Moldova and the Parliament of Romania pleads for providing a clear European prospect to Moldova. In its fourth meeting, the Commission adopted a statement to this effect, IPN reports.
According to the statement, the Parliament of Romania will continue to support, in the political dialogue with the legislatures of the EU member states, the need to swiftly ratify the Association Agreement between the European Union and Moldova. The accord will raise the relationship between Moldova and the EU to a higher level and represents a stage in the broad process of Moldova’s integration into the EU.
“All the political forces of Romania reassert their readiness and determination to continue to support the European integration of Moldova both at internal and foreign levels and in the bilateral and multilateral relations with the EU member states and the Europeans institutions,” reads the statement.
The Commission supports the creation of a common media area between the two states and encourages the adoption of the measures needed for Moldova and Romania to facilitate the retransmission of TV channels from the two states. The MPs plead for strengthening the projects to cooperate jointly in the cultural, social, economic, education, energy and other spheres.
The document supports the intensification of cooperating in the area of emergency assistance and the development of a SMURD mechanism in Moldova. It proposes implementing development projects to improve the skills of Moldovan teachers and to ensure academic mobility and research and innovation programs in the education sector.
