The liturgical flag of Ruler Stephan the Great will be on display at the National Museum of Archeology and History of Moldova from August 27 until September 10. It will be brought from Bucharest on August 24. All the flag transportation, keeping and presentation stages have been agreed, Deputy Minister of Culture Gheorghe Postica said in a working meting on August 16, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“It is for the first time that such a valuable exhibition will be staged in Moldova. It is like an exam for us. The flag had been restored during seven years and the National Museum of Archeology and History of Moldova will be the second place where the public will be able to see it. The exhibit will be opened on the Independence Day,” said Gheorghe Postica.
According to the Museum’s director Eugen Sava, they are cooperating intensely with the National Museum of History of Romania in order to ensure the integrity of the flag, which will be protected by officers of the Ministry of the Interior of Moldova.
The Moldovan Government allocated almost 300,000 lei from the state budget for mounting the exhibition.
The flag was insured for €7.5 million with an international company.
