The Cabinet approved the strategy for ensuring equality between women and men in Moldova for 2017 -2021 and the plan of action for implementing this document, IPN reports.
The goal is to ensure gender quality by achieving five general objectives followed by specific objectives. The document aims to strengthen the institutional gender equality ensuring mechanism, to combat stereotypes in society and to promote non-violent communication and gender equality in security and defense, etc.
These objectives show the global tendencies and are designed to fulfill the commitments undertaken by Moldova at international level, as regards the observance of human rights, functioning of democracy and economic growth based on competitiveness.
The measures defined in the plan of action will be carried out with money budgeted for the purpose by the public authorities involved in the implementation of the strategy and from others sources.
