The band SunStroke Project will represent Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 that will be held in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv. It won the national Eurovision final of February 25 with the song “Hey Mamma”, IPN reports.
SunStroke Project will compete in the first Eurovision semifinal on May 9, alongside contestants from Montenegro, Finland, Georgia, Portugal, Belgium, Sweden, Albania, Azerbaijan, Australia, Cyprus and other states.
The band also took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo, together with singer Olia Tira. In the semifinal in Norway, Moldova ranked 10th, while in the final 22nd.
Moldova has taken part in this song contest starting with 2005, when it achieved the best result. Then the band Zdob si Zdub finished 6th with the song “Boonika bate doba”.
