Anatolie Blonschi, a suspect in the 2014 bank fraud case arrested a week ago at the border, was released on bail by the Chisinau/ Buiucani Court.
In addition to the 12,000 lei bail bond, the Court also ordered one of the guarantors to pay another 11,000 lei.
“The prosecution was against the admission of the defense’s request regarding the replacement of the preventive measure, but under Article 329 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the court’s decision is not appealable”, Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office said in a press release.
Due to the nature of the preventive measure applied, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office says it is neither under the obligation nor has the right to authorize or monitor the defendant’s travel abroad.
The next court session is slated for January 23.
Blonschi, 44, was arrested the Leușeni-Albita border crossing by the National Anticorruption Center under a warrant issued in April 2022.
