Swindle of one million lei

The police discovered a criminal group specialized in thefts of mobile phones. The group provided mobile phone repair services and appropriated the most expensive phones, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry of the Interior. The company had 18 local offices located all over Moldova. They employed 35 persons. When a client brought an extensive mobile phone for repair, the employee who received the phone was transferred to another workplace inside the network and the owner could not find that person to get his phone back. The group was headed by two men aged 20. One of them managed the head office where the mobile phones were disassembled and repaired, while the other one collected the money and mobile phones from the local offices. After the victims filed complaints, the police carried out a search of the group leaders' homes and discovered 3,500 mobile phones to the value of about one million lei. The culprits face up to seven years in jail for swindle.
