Swindler posing as Chisinau City Hall jurist gets five years

A man was sentenced to five years in jail for swindling over 55,000 lei out of two persons by pretending to be a jurist at the Chisinau City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office. The prosecutors proved that in February-March 2009, the man, posing as a jurist of the Chisinau City Hall, got over 55,000 lei from two persons in order to help them obtain construction authorizations. The 36-year-old man has two children and is out of work. The conviction can be appealed to a higher court.
