Serious cross-border threats to health will be monitored through the Early Warning and Response System managed by the National Public Health Agency. A draft decision to this effect was approved by the Cabinet, IPN reports.

“The draft decision focuses on swift communication and exchange of information on all serious cross-border threats to citizens’ health, efficient management of alerts, coordination of response at national level and communication in situations of risk with the European Union,” Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco said in the Cabinet meeting.

According to her, the mechanism will ensure the exchange of information with all institutions, both of the health system and of all national responsible authorities, and also at international level, including with the European Union and the World Health Organization.

The approved draft decision stipulates the emergency notification procedures and provides for the exchange of information and coordination of responses to serious cross-border threats to health in order to take the necessary measures to protect public health.
