The Taraclia district hospital has been outfitted with last-generation laparoscopic equipment that is needed to perform surgeries and with resuscitation equipment to the value of 2.2 million lei. The money was allocated from the budget of the National Health Insurance Company.
Contacted by IPN, the hospital’s director Vitalie Jelev said the building of the medical institution is being renovated. The windows were replaced and the thermal insulation works were completed. The wards are now being equipped. By this yearend, the hospital will be supplied with an X-ray machine for which another 5 million lei will be allotted from the state budget.
Valerie Jelev said the hospital’s old surgical equipment was inappropriate for performing operations. The rehabilitation period of patients was longer because there was no efficient rehabilitation equipment. Now the patients will be discharged four days after they are operated.
The Taraclia district hospital has a capacity of 118 beds and has the most modern medical equipment in the southern part of the country.
