Taxi-driver assaulted in Comrat

A taxi-driver from Comrat was assaulted and his car was hijacked by 2 passengers in the village of Congaz, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a MoI press release, the incident took place on Saturday early morning. The taxi-driver filed a complaint to the police, saying that he was bound with duct-tape. The 2 male aggresors asked for his money and eventually forced him to give them 600 euros, 100 US dollars and 4,000 lei, threw him out of the car and took off to an unknown direction. A few hours after the crime had taken place the main suspects were identified by the police. One of them is a 26-year-old male inhabitant of Congaz, previously tried for minor offences, while the second one’s identity is still unknown as he managed to escape and is pursued. He is believed to be 30 years of age, 170 to 180cm in height and to have brown eyes. The police calls on any persons that might recognize the suspects and/or have information pertaining to the wanted individual to contact the police as soon as they do.
