Teacher of “Stefan Neaga” College arrested for passive corruption

A department head of the Chisinau College “Stefan Neaga” was arrested by officers of the National Anticorruption Center for asking for 18,000 lei from a student for helping him pass the exams, get a monthly award and a place in the dorm during the years of studies, IPN has learned from the Center.

The teacher was caught in the act of taking €700 from the student. The money was yielded voluntarily to the police.

The man is being questioned and may be put under arrest for a period. He faces up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to 60,000 lei for passive corruption.
