Teachers will have less fewer reports to submit following an optimization proposed by the Ministry of Education&Culture. In particular, this means a reduction from 17 to 5 reports for a regular teacher, and from 40 to 16 for a professor in a management position.

Education&Culture Minister Monica Babuc said this is included in the newly approved Methodology of Time Allocation for Teachers. As provided in the Education Code as, teachers should spend more of their time on counseling students and parents and on visiting libraries. The Methodology does exactly this, says the minister, by allocating greater percentages of time for teachers to spend on communication and on their professional growth.

Minister Babuc also announced that next year the government will allocate 17 million lei for teachers’ continuous training, a thing which she said has never been done since 2010, with the teachers having to foot the bill from their own pockets.
