Thermometers will show rather high temperatures over the first week of winter. During December 1-6, daytime temperatures will oscillate between 8 and 13°C, while nighttime temperatures between 0 and 5°C, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the State Hydrometeorology Service.
“The temperatures are much higher than the usual ones for this period, by 4-5 degrees above the norm. It is not an extreme phenomenon for Moldova. Such a situation repeats every 2-3 years. But the absence of precipitation is a problem as the crops can be affected,” said the first deputy director of the State Hydrometeorology Service Elina Pleshka.
No precipitation is expected this week. There will be only slight precipitation until the middle of December. “We do not yet know if it will be rain or sleet,” said the first deputy director.
The instability of temperatures in winter is typical of Moldova’s climate.
