Ten Moldovan diplomats and ministry employees will benefit from training in Romania under a Romanian Foreign Ministry initiative that forms part of the financial assistance for development program. The candidates will be selected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Romanian Ambassador in Chisinau Marius Lazurca said from January 1, 2007, when Romania joined the EU, the Romanian Foreign Ministry yearly provides funds in financial assistance for development. “For Romania, Moldova is a priority. The negotiations between Moldova and the EU became extremely dynamical and we consider we can lend a hand by preparing diplomats who are most concerned with the European integration,” Marius Lazurca said.
The training program will start in August and last by December. From August 15 until September 1, the diplomats will take part in two summer schools, while from September they will start to attend the courses.
According to the Ambassador, there will be selected persons who work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and other ministries involved in the talks between Moldova and the EU.
The courses will be taught at the Romanian Diplomatic Institute (RDI). RDI head Radu Carp said Moldovan diplomats will receive training at the Institute for the first time. At the end of the courses, the participants will benefit from internships at institutions in Bucharest.
The program has a budget of €76,000. The Romanian Foreign Ministry covers the accommodation, local transport and other costs and provides a monthly scholarship of €300.
