Termocom asks another 237m lei from Chisinau administration

SA Termocom sued again the Chisinau City Hall. This time, the heat supplier demands that it is paid 237 million lei from the municipal budget as compensation for the incomes uncollected during 2006-2009, Info-Prim Neo reports. “They think that the heating charge should be higher and demand that the Chisinau City Hall pay the difference between the present charge and the charge that they wanted the Chisinau City Hall to approve,” the Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said at Tuesday’s meeting of the City Hall. “The date of the next hearing has not been fixed yet, but the parties filed the questions related to the investigation,” the head of the Legal Division Diana Gurschi said. The Chisinau administration’s debt to Termocom totals 97 million lei. It represents the compensations for heat that the municipal authorities promised to pay to certain groups of people. Maria Caraus, the head of the General Finance Division, said that the debt to SA Termocom cannot be settled now because the collections to the budget have been 84% since the start of this year. “We will continue to pay the debt proportionally to the collections to the budget,” she said. The Chisinau residents pay 540 lei per gigacalorie of heat at present. Last yearend, Termocom demanded that the charge be raised to 842 lei per gigacalorie.
