It's the first time that Termocom utility has been ordered by court to resume heat supply to a Chisinau apartment house with 450 residents and pay 200,000 lei in compensation for the unlawful supply disruption. The administrator of the house, Oleg Cernei, who also happens to be a city councilor, sued the utility after it cut the heat supply with no good reason. Cernei added that despite a court decision being pronounced, the utility didn't bother to explain its reasons. Councilor Cernei and Termocom's administrator Dionisie Antocel have many a time clashed in public over the activity of the state-run utility, in particular over the heating bills, which Cernei considers to be very high, while Antocel, on the contrary, too low to cover the utility's expenses. And Cernei thinks this is the real reason behind the halt, labeling it as “abuse of authority” on the part of Antocel. “Because of Antocel's personal ambitions people endured sufferings”, the councilor told the agency Info-Prim Neo. Dionisie Antocel couldn't be found to comment on the situation. Meanwhile, the residents of the house in question complained that, despite paying their heating bills in full, their radiators had been warm only for two days during this heating season. While lacking district heating, they said they were forced to use electrical heaters and dress warmer so that they wouldn't freeze in their apartments.
