The EU continues to support Moldova in maintaining stability

The European Union remains committed to supporting the Republic of Moldova in its efforts to maintain and enhance stability and prosperity on its European path. Statements to this effect were made by ambassadors from the EU Council's Political and Security Committee in discussions with Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatii, IPN reports.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Defense, the parties also discussed Moldova's cooperation with the European Union in the defense sector, the goal of modernizing the National Army, and the prospects for deepening the partnership through new assistance projects to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities.

Discussions also covered the current security situation and the challenges posed by the war led by the Russian Federation in Ukraine, Moldova's strategic development objectives, and the importance of accelerating its European integration path. European countries’ support in various areas to bolster Moldova’s resilience against current hybrid threats was also highlighted.

Minister Anatolie Nosatii said that, in the current context, support from international partners is crucial.

The agenda of the EU Political and Security Committee ambassadors' visit included meetings with the Head of the EU Delegation in Moldova, Janis Mazeiks, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, and other officials of the Moldovan government.
