The Googles and Hoty Pies victorious at Odyssey of the Mind

The Googles from Bravicea village and Hoty Pies from Calarasi town have taken the first position at the Odyssey of the Mind European contest, while Black Cats from Anenii Noi town – the third position. The competition took place in Patince, Slovakia, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the website of the Moldovan Intellectual Games Club, Moldova was represented by six teams. The Googles placed first at the mixed problems contest between teams from the first and second divisions – the youngest teams. Black Cats ranked third in the same contest. Hoty Pies finished first in the contest for older teams, of the third and fourth divisions. About 70 teams from Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Germany, Poland, Cameroon, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Switzerland and Moldova took part in the contest. Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. It is held in English. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and world level. The costumes, setting and scenario are all made by the team. Next year, the Odyssey of the Mind will be held in Belarus.
