The Chisinau City Hall has launched the project “Chisinau Civil Budget”, the 2022 edition. Private individuals and legal entities can file applications until February 28 this year. For implementation, each selected project will get by over 300,000 lei from the municipality, IPN reports.
Mayor Ion Ceban told a news conference that the citizens can propose projects of local interest. These will be assessed by a commission that will consist of representatives of the municipality and civil society. Later, the projects validated by the commission will be subject to online voting and the projects that gain most of the votes will be financed by the Chisinau City Hall, being implemented by the district head’s offices, together with the project authors.
The proposed projects must refer to such areas as urban infrastructure, rehabilitation of public areas, urban mobility, road safety, alternative transport, cultural and social infrastructure, street art, IT, energy efficiency, projects intended for persons with special needs. There can be proposed small-value projects, of 15,000 to 100,000 lei, or projects of 100,000 to 300,000 lei. Over 300,000 lei in financing will be provided if this is an important project for the municipality, stated Ion Ceban.
Projects can be submitted by residents of Chisinau individually or in teams. Each person or team will be able to propose at most two projects. Co-financing is an impotent criterion. For initiatives proposed by individuals, co-financing will be 1%, while for legal entities - 20%.
Those interested shall submit the file to the Chisinau City Hall until February 28, 5pm. The list of required documents is available on www.chisinau.md.
For implementing the winning projects, the Chisinau City Hall will allocate a total of 3 million lei.
