The leader of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet demands that the Democratic Party should say where the two votes needed by the ruling alliance to elect the head of state will be taken from. He does not rule out that it may be a ‘craft’ plan devised by the leader of the PCRM, Info-Prim Neo reports. ”It can happen in the cunning manner that is typical of the Communist leader, who ruled the country in a totalitarian style during eight years. Vladimir Voronin may promise that two-three persons will vote, but they will not vote on December 16 and thus the early elections will be inevitable,” Valeriu Strelet said in the program “In Profunzime” on Pro TV. He stressed that the hurry and insistence require a responsible attitude. “Nobody wants early elections, but one thing is to want and another thing is to be able to do something. The attitude is prudent and very responsible. We want to know what’s going on for the people’s benefit,” said the MP. The Liberal-Democrats demand signing an annex to the AEI agreement, whereby the parties to pledge not to form a coalition with the PCRM and not to initiate or take part in negotiations on the re-formation of the alliance. In the same program, the head of the Democratic parliamentary group Dumitru Diacov said he does not know where the two votes will be taken to elect the Democratic leader Marian Lupu as head of state, but he is inclined to believe that these persons will vote for patriotic reasons. The MPs also said that Marian Lupu had a discussion on the issue with Igor Dodon, the leader of the parliamentary group of the Socialists. An agreement with the two persons can be reached even in the morning of December 16, said Dumitru Diacov. The head of state is elected by 61 votes. The AEI has 58 votes, plus the vote of unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea. The ruling alliance’s candidate for the presidency Marian Lupu repeatedly said that he secured the two votes missing.
