The Alliance for European Integration 2 (AEI 2), which was created in 2010, broke up after the Liberal Democratic Party decided to withdraw from the agreement signed when the alliance was formed. There are possibilities of creating AEI 3, considers political analyst Viorel Cibotaru. He has told Info-Prim Neo that theoretically, those from the PDM can accept to negotiate another agreement without giving Vlad Plahotniuc another post.
“Vlad Plahotniuc is not a church key or the Pope of Rome, but you see that the Pope can also resign and Catholicism does not end. I think that putting the PDM in the opposition is not opportune. The fact that the PLDM may theoretically come closer to the Communists in order to vote certain bills will not give the PDM support. The chances of the PDM and PL in possible early elections will be slim. Their hopes to take votes from the Communists or the Liberal-Democrats can be a dream that will not come true. The PDM wants to remain in power in the current format. This party, as well as the PLDM, will not be able to form a stable alliance with the PCRM,” said the analyst.
According to him, there are several possibilities of signing a government agreement. “From political viewpoint, Vlad Plahotniuc means nothing. He is an ordinary MP without any other legal powers. His position is yet different in the shadow government. There may be other variants too, including that the Filat Government will not get the vote of confidence and there will be early elections. There may be formed other alliances,” said the political analyst.
The Liberal-Democratic leader Vlad Filat Wednesday said that his party decided to withdraw from the AEI agreement, but is ready to negotiate another agreement that will exclude the oligarchic principles.
