Thief among taxi drivers

The police discovered a criminal group suspected of stealing radios from taxis. Adrian Jovmir, the head of the General Police Commissariat's press office, has told Info-Prim Neo that the group consists of three men, who had been convicted of similar offenses.
One of the suspects, alias “Crivoi”, of 47, was released from prison in 2006 and worked as a taxi driver for a Chisinau company. The other two are “Cosoi”, 36, and “Catso”, 37. The latter was tried for drug-related offenses.
The three men are suspected of stealing radios and DVD players from taxis and selling them through the agency of the administrator of the taxi company.
The members of the group are investigated outside prison. They face a fine of 6,000 to 20,000 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service, or imprisonment of up to four years.
