Three Ceadir-Lunga men received prison times ranging from 17 to 18 years for committing a series of robberies and other forms of theft in Baurci village of the same district.
The Prosecutor General’s Office said in a press release that in 2015 the group broke into a Baurci home at night, torturing the owner into surrendering all the money in the house.
The men were also found guilty of ammassing 78,000 lei cash as well as two guns and ammunition from other burglaries in the village.
The sentences can be appealed.
