Three teenagers killed a man for 173 lei

Three teenagers from Drochia, two of which still underage, were jailed for beating a man to death, Info-Prim Neo learned from a press release of the Prosecutor General’s Office. The incident happened in September 2010.The boys attacked a 50 year old drunken man and stole 73 lei to buy alcohol. One hour later, they returned to the victim, beat him again, this time using a screwdriver and stole 100 lei. The man didn’t recover. The older of them, aged 21, was sentenced to 17 years in jail. Another one, aged 15 at the time of the crime, received a sentence of 7 years. The third one, then aged 17, was charged only with robbery and jailed for two years. The Hancesti Prosecutor’s Office deems the punishment too mild and will appeal the sentence in higher court.
