The National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova (CNSM) demands that the head of the National Social Insurance House (CNAS) Maria Borta be immediately dismissed. The trade unions say the steps taken by the CNAS lately are inadmissible and illegal. On the other hand, the staff of CNAS says the accusations and demands of the trade unionists are unfounded and threatens to take legal action, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a communiqué, the trade unions say there were identified numerous cases when the CNAS head exceeded her authority and had an inappropriate attitude towards the complaints and demands of the trade unions.
“The National Social Insurance House repeatedly delayed issuing sanatorium tickets to salary earners. This leads to chaos and upsetting of the senatorial treatment program. This is inadmissible as there are tens of thousands of applicants,” it is said in the communiqué issued by the CNSM.
The staff of the CNAS expresses its bewilderment and indignation at the fact that in the present economic and political conditions the CNSM takes steps to influence the public opinion by making unfounded accusations against the institution and its administration.
“The CNAS, as a public institution responsible for managing the state social insurance budget, is obliged to transparently and legally use the given budget. “We consider that the request to dismiss the administration of the CNAS is an attempt to hinder the work of the whole staff,” says the statement.
According to the CNAS staff, the institution’s head represents the common opinion of the specialists in the field and the dismissal will not change the Company’s attitude to the given issues. The staff says they reserve the right to sue those who make accusations against the CNAS.
