A number of 1,026 foreign citizens are now on the train with 11 railcars that is heading for Ungheni. Only the persons who were at the Vălcineț border crossing point could be embarked, the General Border Police Inspectorate has said.
The border police officers ensured the transportation of travellers from the Otaci border crossing point to the railway station.
Another 140 citizens remained near the Otaci border crossing point from where they will be transported to the destination.
Moldova’s Railways provided a train with 11 railcars for transporting over 1,200 Ukrainian refugees who entered Moldova through the Otaci - Moghilev Podolsk state border crossing point.
The train route will be operated two times a day.
