Transport liberalization agreements with Ukraine to be signed by end-December

The agreements on the liberalization of road and air transport between Moldova and Ukraine will be signed by the end of this year. Prime Minister Pavel Filip and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodimir Groisman agreed to sign the documents in a meeting held on the sidelines of the Tbilisi Belt and Road Forum 2017 on November 28, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the Premiers also agreed to increase the number of authorizations for international freight carries next year from 43,000 to 60,000 and to extend the period of stay in Ukraine for Moldovan drivers working on international routes to over 90 days.

Pavel Filip thanked the Ukrainian side for the launch of the common control at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, on the Transnistrian segment, and noted that Moldova carried out all the internal procedures for implementing the agreement signed in Chisinau at the start of October.

Pavel Filip and Volodimir Groisman agreed to stimulate coordination work on the text of the agreement on the functioning of the Nistrean Hydroelectric Complex.
