The Ministry of Transport called upon the drivers to travel according to the winter regime, at low speed so as to avoid accidents. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Deputy Minister Boris Gherasim said that all the roads are passable, including in rural areas. There are yet icy road sections where the vehicles may skid. Boris Gherasim urged the drivers who changed the winter tires for summer tires not to use the cars for several days. “The roads are cleaned and antiskid material is spread. If more snow falls, the works will be stepped up,” he stated. Traffic jams formed in some parts of Chisinau. According to the head of the General Public Transport and Communications Division Adrian Boldurescu, 24 vehicles are cleaning the snow from streets. The movement along some of the streets in Chisinau was difficult in the morning as it started to snow at about 7am and it took some time until the streets started to be cleaned. Antonina Talpa, press officer of the Traffic Police Division, has told Info-Prim Neo that 20 road accidents have happened in Chisinau this morning, until 10am. Nobody was hurt. Four accidents occurred in the capital city the previous 24 hours. According to the State Hydrometeorology Service, snow will fall until Sunday, March 4.
