TVR 1 will restart to be broadcast in Moldova based on an official document that will be signed in Chisinau on September 12. The announcement was made by the State Secretary of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bogdan Aurescu, IPN reports, quoting the publication Evenimentul Zilei Romania (“Event of the Day Romania”).
Bogdan Aurescu said the return of the channel TVR 1 to Moldova’s ether was a key subject discussed in the meeting of Prime Ministers Iurie Leanca and Victor Ponta in Chisinau at the end of August.
The broadcasting of TVR 1 in Moldova was banned during the Communist rule. The Romanian channel filed an international lawsuit. Even after the Communists lost the elections, the resumption of the broadcasting of TVR 1 was delayed, the only possibility of watching this channel being the retransmissions of a number of programs, mainly recreational ones, by some of the local channels.
