Two employees of the Border Guard Service will give testimony in the case concerning the injuring of an officer of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime (CCCEC), Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Border Guard Service.
The Service says that on April 11 at 22.05, a man who presented himself as Victor Busuioc from Tudora village of Stefan Voda district called the guard unit of the Border Guards Picket “Tudora” and sought help, saying masked persons entered his house and opened fire. The Picket’s head contacted the district police officer and then traveled to the place. There was the district police officer and several employees of the CCCEC near the man’s house. Later, the Center’s officers asked that two employees of the Border Guard Service be summoned as witnesses.
In a press briefing on April 12, Bogdan Zumbreanu, deputy head of the CCCEC’s General Prosecution Division, said the Center’s officer was shot in the head during a search of the home of a person who is suspected of forming part of a group that smuggled contraband from Ukraine.
He stated that the fire was opened by a member of the group, when the Center’s officers entered the house. The injured officer is in a serious condition.
