Two Chisinau markets risk being closed

The Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca proposed closing the markets that do not observe the sanitary and epidemiological norms. The proposal was put forward at the meeting of the municipal antiepidemic commission following the presentation of a report on the situation at the markets in Chisinau by the General Trade, Public Food and Services Division, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Division's head Vladimir Nirca said 16 markets had been checked during the last five days. Serious violations of the sanitary norms were identified at two of them – Socoleni and Dionis. According to him, Socoleni can be closed for good. “The market Dionis still can remove the shortcomings, but the sanitary block of Socoleni market is in a disastrous condition and its 28 places are insufficient,” Vladimir Nirca said. He also said that seven of the 46 public eateries examined were closed and will be opened only after they remove the discovered irregularities.
