The first deputy chairman and deputy chairman of the Ecologist Party “Green Alliance” Andrei Dumbraveanu and Anatol Prohnitski announced that they had withdrawn from the party's list of candidates for MP, Info-Prim Neo reports. The two invoked a number of reasons, including the authoritarian style of the party's chairman Vladimir Braga and the violation of a number of articles of the party's statutes. Andrei Dumbraveanu said an additional reason for him was the distortion of Greens' messages. He also said that some of the messages conveyed during the electoral debates say the party will plead for capital punishment. But this is inadmissible, according to him, as almost all the states abolished capital punishment. “It is not the place we occupy that counts for me, but the ideology promoted. I'm among the founders of the party and the cause, not the place matters for me,” Andrei Dumbraveanu said. Anatol Prohnitski stressed that the party's statutes are being violated. The party's slogan is “An honest man in a prosperous country”, as stipulated in Article 9 of the statutes, but in the electoral debates, the “Green Alliance” participates with the slogan “A law for all.” The two said they do not defect from the party and called on those who remain on the party's lists to respect the ideology of the Greens. The Ecologist Party is a fully-fledged member of the European Green Party. Andrei Dumbraveanu is the 15th on the list of the Greens, while Anatolie Prohnitski – the 19th.
