Two people killed in road accidents on Sunday

Two people died on Moldova’s roads on Sunday. One of the fatal accidents happened in Chisinau on Calea Mosilor Street at around 17:00, Info-Prim Neo learned from Traffic Police’s PR officer Paulina Iachimovschi. A Yamaha motorcycle ridden by a 31-year-old man from Straseni collided violently with a VAZ car. The motorcyclist was propelled 30 meters and suffered severe injuries upon hitting the ground. The man was admitted to the intensive care section of the Emergency Hospital but died shortly after that. At around 4:30, a 51-year-old man was found dead on a street in Drochia town. Most likely he was the victim of a hit-and-run accident. Hours later, the police arrested a 24-year-old man suspected of having been responsible for the fatal accident. Over the past 24 hours, the Traffic Police registered 13 accidents which killed two and injured twenty-three other people. There were also 24 minor accidents with no victims.
