Two types of forensic tests – in dactyloscopy (identification of persons by fingerprints) and the examination of circumstances of road accidents – will be additionally accredited at the National Center of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the reports on these tests will be also recognized on the territory of the EU and the test results will be valid for cases filed to European Court of Human Rights.
The forensic laboratory of the National Center of Forensic Expertise was accredited a year ago and is the first lab accredited in Moldova. In the first half of this year, the laboratory performed 68 tests in cases of road accidents, 60 of which at the request of the court or prosecution bodies and eight at the request of private individuals.
