Two-year-old girl dies from carbon monoxide poisoning

A two-year-old girl died from carbon monoxide poisoning, while her younger sister was rushed to the hospital after a blanket caught fire from an electrical device. It happened in Baimaclia village of Cantemir district. Liliana Puscasu, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the girl aged two and her sister of only several months were left by their mother in the care of a nine-year-old boy. The boy was playing outside when the tragedy struck. The firefighters did not have to intervene as only 20 centimeters of the blanket burned, but the smoke emitted was fatal for the little girl who died on the way to the hospital. The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns the parents and all the persons looking after children not to leave them without supervision and explain to them that it is very dangerous to play with fire.
