Law enforcement officers annihilated a criminal group that in the course of last year promoted fascist and anti-Semitic messages on a Telegram channel and denied the Holocaust. A minor is also investigated, IPN reports.

The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) summoned the two suspects for questioning. They are from Chisinau and are aged 17 and 34.

“Both the man and the teenager (the latter is from a family of jurists) were active supporters of the ideology promoted on the Internet, including in the context of the current Israeli-Palestinian armed conflict, and are fond of literature on the subject of Holocaust denial,” PCCOCS said in a press release.

After starting the criminal investigation and summoning the two to the specialized prosecutor’s office, the Telegram channel was deleted.  The investigations continue.

The Security and Intelligence Service, which provided support to prosecutors, said that there are irresponsibly behaving citizens who proliferate in public tendentious badges and graphic designs that can cause conflict situations on grounds of ideological, political and national hatred, which generates risks of undermining the peaceful coexistence of the multiethnic and multilingual people of the Republic of Moldova.
