An information system called UAHELP will operate in Moldova, containing a unified and systematized database regarding refugees and their needs. The system will also ensure the record of temporary placement centers for people displaced from the territory of other states, as well as the record of host families. The concept and the regulation regarding the operation were approved on Wednesday by the Government.

“More than two years after Russia’s invasion and unjust war in Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova, the citizens and the Government continue to stand with the citizens of Ukraine. We continue to manage more than 30 temporary refugee placement centers, where there are about 2900 refugees. Additionally, about 5,800 Moldova families host approximately 13,000 refugees,” said Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu.

The UAHELP information system will provide tools for controlling data flows to make sure decision-makers in the government have accurate data in the policy-drafting processes.

At the same time, the UAHELP informational system will allow monitoring the process of recording and distributing the monetary support granted to displaced persons from the territory of other states, including the monetary support granted to host families by international partners.

In 2024-2025, the maintenance costs of the UAHELP system will be covered by Moldova’s development partners.
