“The Government of Moldova is an open and reliable partner,” Premier Vlad Filat said at the opening of the regional meeting of deputy resident representatives of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Chisinau on April 13. The meeting brought together delegates from 22 European and CIS states, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the executive's press service.
“Moldova needs sustainable partnerships in order to achieve its development objectives,” the Prime Minister said, adding he is glad that the UNDP chose Moldova as a venue for this event.
“The Cabinet that I head has clear and realistic views on how to transform Moldova into a democratic state of law based on a functional market economy that can become a member of the EU.”
The Premier stressed that Moldova goes through a difficult period of economic, political and social rehabilitation, but he is confident that together with the development partners Moldova will manage to overcome the economic and financial crisis.
“In concert with UNDP Moldova, we implement projects aimed at modernizing the country, providing economic development opportunities, freedoms and rights and promoting European standards and values,” he said, highlighting that the organization also helped the Government to efficiently coordinate the foreign assistance.
