Union Fenosa declares state of emergency of first degree

The administration of RED Union Fenosa decided to declare a state of emergency of the first degree at the company and to work in accordance with the internal norms and regulations for such situations. The materials needed to repair the electric power lines and resume the supply of power are being stored up and transported where needed, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the company. The Communication Department of Union Fenosa informs that many electric power networks are in a serious condition as they were affected by the strong winds and hoar frost during the last three days. The heavy precipitation and variable temperatures created conditions for hoar frost. The wind in some parts blows at a speed of 20-30 m/s. The visibility is very low. A number of 144 settlements, mainly in Orhei, Hancesti, Calarasi and Straseni districts, were still disconnected from the power supply on Saturday noon. The company mobilized all the available human and material resources so as to remedy the situation. According to the company, it is very important to respect the security rules concerning electrical installations as they permanently pose a danger. Any broken cable must be avoided and fenced. If need be, the place must be guarded, while the local authorities and people living nearby must be informed. The electric power line must be contacted on 022 – 43-11-11 or the telephone number indicated in the electricity bill.
