A university professor from Chisinau was denounced by a student and is now investigated for corruption and influence peddling. The student complained that the teacher of the university’s Military Department asked for 1,500 lei from him for issuing a service record to him without attending classes and another 600 lei for influencing doctors to issue the necessary certificates, IPN reports.
According to the National Anticorruption Center, the two sums were passed on under the control of officers. Legal action was taken over passive corruption and influence peddling. The professor is investigated outside custody.
Anticorruption officers are carrying out investigation actions to determine all the persons involved in those schemes.
